First. thank you very much for liking my piece, “The Veil of Anxiety” on my blog. Second, as to your question, I would just draw a few lines to indicate ripples or waves to get the idea of water. And third, Not too many. I like what you say on your About page regarding drawing for 15 minutes a day. I make a point of setting aside 20 minutes for artwork each day and those 20 minutes easily turn into hours! I looked through my work to find a piece with water that did not include color and the closest I came to is the scratchboard “Waterfall.” /Users/nanowol/Desktop/Waterfall.jpg
Wow – So true … I enjoy the feeling of getting immersed in a drawing and forgetting about time. Thanks for sharing your tip, I will try a few ripples and waves next time.
It does look like water. However, you could also use water colours or make marks to define the space. But I love it as it is, simple and evocative.

Thank you! I like that it is simple too. I will try a few more lines just under the boats next time.

Just put in some wavy reflections – that should do it.

Is this a camping boat for leisure time ?

I believe so; quite a few Sydney siders have boats for just motoring around the harbour. Lucky them!
