Pyrmont is an inner city suburb near the Sydney CBD on the western shore of Darling Harbour. Once a colonial port known for its wharves, shipyards and stores, it is also home to the Star Casino, Powerhouse Museum, the (old) Pyrmont Bridge and the famous Sydney Fish Market. Close proximity to the city and university has seen it become the most population dense suburb in Australia.
Here is my collection of sketches from Pyrmont.

#0167 Half Dome at Yosemite National Park California USA (1993). I remember my sister falling asleep on the way back to the hotel and I drove half an hour in the wrong direction … she’s not been allowed to navigate since.

PS. My grandfather, who passed away before I was born, was a clan man.

PS. Hoping to get by without having to add colour but hatching would make the sketch too busy.
#0163 Offspring #1 played two back to back footy matches here which afforded me a bit of time to sketch.

PS. This was quite a challenging sketch. There was way too many things going on and it was kinda hard to simplify. I initially drew the club house and added stick figures much later as the sketch seemed too bare and uninteresting … perhaps a note to self to keep practicing drawing crowds rather than avoiding them!
#0162 A once bare space between the kitchen and dining area gets cosied up with furnishings from other parts of the house and becomes a special spot to show off offspring #1’s handmade tie-dye cushion (school project).
